About the Course

The Basic Life Support (BLS) class is for healthcare providers and public safety professionals. It covers the essential skills needed to respond effectively in emergency situations – and can help you meet a variety of certification and licensing requirements. The BLS training will be taught by experts in the field and include all standard scientific learning objectives necessary in professional resuscitation courses. In addition, the class helps develop critical thinking and teamwork skills and allows time to work on reflection and debriefing – all of which can improve overall learning and work experience.


Upon successful completion of the course, participants will earn multiple certifications and be fully prepared to deliver basic emergency medical care in a variety of healthcare settings. The American Red Cross will email the course certificates to each participant upon successful completion of the course.

Educational Objectives:


Participants will learn how to provide life-saving care during critical incidents, with training that includes:


  • Scene safety and patient assessment

  • CPR and AED use for adults, children, and infants

  • Management of obstructed airways

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving in high-stress scenarios

  • Effective communication and teamwork

  • Understanding the EMS system and legal considerations

  • Safety precautions and best practices
